The Founders
Robert Engler is the co-founder of Black Sheep Universe Charitable Trust Inc., a 501(c)(3) dedicated to promoting mental health awareness and support for adolescents, preteens and teens. Together with his wife Stephanie, Bob created Black Sheep Universe to address the growing mental health challenges facing young people and to ensure that families, schools, and communities have better tools, resources and conversations around emotional well-being.
Drawing on the more than 40 years of experience as a C.P.A. in accounting, financial planning and tax advisory work, Bob brings strong expertise in governance, compliance, and the responsible stewardship of donor funds to the organization. His background includes serving as an executive producer of “The Real Change Project-Artists for Education,” a national television special that raised money for teachers’ classrooms, reinforcing his belief that properly funded, emotionally healthy learning environments are critical for kids.
At Black Sheep Universe, Bob focuses on strategic planning, financial oversight, and building partnerships with mental health professionals, schools and community organizations to expand the charity’s reach and impact. Above all, he is passionate about giving “black sheep”-young people who feel different, overlooked, or misunderstood-the support, visibility, and confidence they need to thrive. Bob and Stephanie are proud to grow a trust that reflects their family’s belief in empathy, inclusion, and real measurable change in youth mental health.
